Sooo, I've had to make a decision quickly to haul myself off to Camp Arnold to be the Craft Director (in Washington div.). Not, however, without many hours of prayer, thinking, consulting, weighing in the course of 3 days. I'm leaving quite a bit behind here, though I can see where the LORD has put people in place to replace a number of things I'm leaving behind, but have realized also, that I can't possibly weigh properly what blessings I am going to. I'm also thinking that I'd rather be able to say "maybe i should've stayed, but I'm glad I'm here, and I know the LORD will use me" rather than, "Well shoot, I should've gone" I don't know when I'll have the opportunity to get out to that coast again after all and not really making a decision essentially makes a decision to not go.
I'm reminded during this time, of a dream I had long ago. I was sitting with my bike on the side of the road in pitch black, darkness, hardly able to see an armslength in front of me. Sitting because I couldn't see the road ahead to continue, and asking...,
"LORD, what do I do? I can't see where to go."
"You have to trust in me and start pedaling and I'll steer for you."

70 year old super hero

So, my father just had heart surgery yesterday. Where you know they saw open the sternum, crank open the rib cage a good 7 inches, cut into various tissues to get to the heart, then cut into the heart to get the troubled vein(s) not conveniently just sitting on top of the heart mind you, sew an artery that they took out of some other part of your body to bypass (hence the name of the surgery) the blockage, sew it all back up, and then super-glue your chest together. That's right I said super-glue!

My father is 70 years old, and recovering like a 50 year old so say the nurses. No sooner did they take the breathing tube out of the old man 5-6 hours after the surgery, did he start telling blonde jokes - and to the blonde nurses i might add! And humming classical music. The next morning he proceeded to scarf down a whole plate of food and cup of coffee. Patients just having had this done aren't supposed to really be able to talk till like the next day. I'm convinced that this is a testimony of the LORD's great love and His Spirit in us.
I'm glad he blesses through the generations!

Sunday School!

Trying to expose my "teens" at the corps to the Bible stories many of us grew up with which laid such a foundation (i.e. Moses, Israelites, Jericho, Samuel hearing the YHWH in the middle of the night, King Saul, King David, the basics really). We've been reading a bit of 1 Samuel, and the other day I was reading 1 Samuel 15 in particular, the end, and the LORD was really painting a picture for me here. Saul is (as it has been shown to me) perhaps stammering "B-but I did obey the LORD" Samuel is giving the the word from the LORD "...Because you have rejected the word of the LORD, he has rejected you as king." and then Saul, devastated, the king blubbering in tears surely, on his hands and knees reaching desperately for Samuel not to turn away from him. The scene truely breaks my heart.

For some reason (Danielle said it best I think "We all suck") I'm having to remember how to be obedient, and I see (perhaps again) just what a great amount that has to do with hearing His voice.

The Love of the Father

God loves us a whole heck of a lot more than we love Him. Whenever we fall short, His hand is stayed because He loves, and eagerly awaits our return. More than anything, He wants His great incomprehensible, true, and right Love to be received, and deserves to be worshiped. I've been trying to press in close to Jesus during this week. I'm sucking at it, but I'm going to continue to try to stay steadfast and I'm still determined to re-read a bit of good ol' Samuel Logan Brengle's Helps to Holiness.

I've been "Home" for what seems like a week now but it has only been 3 days. It feels like home a whole lot less now. Because mainly what made it "Home" was that Eve was here. With much prayer and careful consideration, I'm no longer engaged to her. I've only stayed in St. Petersburg this long for her. So, for the past number of weeks Satan keeps telling me I'm lost. Thankfully, I know he sucks and I know that the LORD will continue to guide me.

Praise His mighty name! For the Lamb seated on the throne is worthy! Through exile, captivity, wandering, or flying straight, let it be His plans for my future. Amen.

I want answers!!

For quite some time God has really been showing me that He is faithful in answering prayers and in speaking to me and just all-around faithfulness. Lately though, it has seemed like there is no answer at all. I ask, and then receive an image of Jesus with His hands over his mouth, and a smile behind his hands, his eyebrows going up as he shrugs his shoulders! And I’m like, “WHAT!?! What kind of an answer is that!?” I ask for Him to speak to me clearly, waiting for the understanding, direction, and peace that will flood in when He answers!

An answer has come after all. He has been faithful, now I realize; the expression was the answer. This is something that I have learned but forgotten; simply, that understanding and insight comes (and not always so quickly) after revelation. So, now it’s time to pray into His answer, and ask “So what do you mean?” And I can fully trust He’ll be faithful to answer!

Jesus is right

Sooo... this isn't such a great revelation or anything, but Jesus is right, always has been, always will be. So often lately little things pop into my head, like where RoRo wants to sit, who it is when the phone rings, or like when my friend Denise is online and I really have nothing to say to her but as soon as i just type her name and hit send, Jesus starts giving me some encouraging words for her. I think it's definetly a good thing to listen and obey with very small things. After the small thing has been accomplished, what ends up happening is another small thing, or bit of instruction comes. We see clear evidence of this in Philip in Acts 8: 26

I've heard a few say that God loves some people a little more than others, but I'm pretty sure it's just that He can trust some people with more when well, ok, just read Matthew 25: 14-30. And you don't even have to leave your chair just go to www.biblegateway.com and type in Mathew 25: 14-30 when you get there.

Craig's Helps to Holiness

Ahhhh! Relaxation in the Birmingham airport! I love airports. Everything just becomes the background and turns to white noise so easily for me at airports. Traveling is so second nature to me, that sitting in an airport, is like a second living-room. A really BIG living-room. With lots of stangers in my living-room. But good strangers. As if everyone's just there for whenever I want to talk to them and say whatever the heck I want. It's great!

The LORD really speaks to me while I'm just sitting there, and fills my mind up with CRAZY stuff. Like this:

Is being holy the same as being blameless? This may be so. Just perhaps hard to accept. For someone to say with all humbleness&honesty, with a contrite heart, "I just wants to do what's right" & they're doing it. Does thet make one holy? Is this like entering into holiness or something? I don't think we become holy little by little, or get closer & closer to becoming holy. We receive the "Gift" as some may say, of holiness when we receive Christ! & When we receive the Holy Spirit! How else would the Holy Spirit be in us. God cannot, will not, dwell in anything UNholy. In order to continue in doing right, being sensitive and obedient the Spirit and being likeminded with Him and being able to overcome, we must continue to be filled with the Holy Spirit. Stay soaked. Don't get out from underneath of the waterfall. OR "...like a tree planted by streams of water..." (Psalm numero uno).

A while back my dear brother, asked out-of-the-blue just, "Are you Holy? Have you received the gift of Holiness?" And I was all like "Dude . . . yeah!" And he was like "Praise the LORD! That's awesome!"

Just some thought jotted down before the flight. And just for fun, I'll add that the LORD led me to share this with an elderly couple that let me have the window seat next to them on the plane! They were Lutherans.

Maybe the 20th or the 21st. The thunderstorm brewing says “It doesn’t matter” One of my favorite thoughts is simply; “It doesn't matter; the wind blows and the rain falls”.

Sticking my head out of my window to watch the wind blow and the storm come in, a man wearing an old torn shirt walked by. In my world right now, I can't stress to you enough how common this is, but it was a fairly significant rip down the back of his shirt. Along with the realization of his soon to be soaked shirt, I thought “I could give him one of mine, AND put it in a plastic bag so he could keep it dry!” I was pretty excited, and I very nearly jumped out to the window to do it. Only hindsite shows me that the LORD kept me from immediate obedience. A few moments passed and I noticed him coming towards the shelter. I hopped down from the window & into my flip-flops and went to the front. Indeed, he had come in, and to get a shower! His name is John and NOW, I was able to bless him with extra socks, 2 shirts & soap in it’s own holder!

I love the winds in the trees and the peals of thunder before the storm overhead!
